"'Melinda,' Mr. Freeman says. Snow filters into the car and melts on the dashboard. 'You're a good kid. I think you have a lot to say. I'd like to hear it.'"

I have a feeling this passage will have a huge impact on the book and how the story evolves. I think Melinda will find Mr. Freeman is the one person she can confide in.

Me: "I said no." p. 195 Finally Melinda stands up for herself and speaks up. I think this passage really shows what she's decided to do, which is not to put up with other people trying to push her around.

"No, I havent decided on the colors yet. That's not what I mean, I mean no, I wont help you." pg. 179. This is significant becase Melinda decides that even though Heather may be one of only freinds, she will not be used. She finally sees Heathr for what she is, and decides to end it.
