What connections can you make between the book and your own life, the real world, other literature or media, etc.?

I can connect to Heather more or less. I do not want to be involved in every possible thing, but I understand that being at a new school it is a good idea to get involved.
I can understand how Heather wants to belong to a group. I know it's hard to stand up for your friend but I think she should have stood behind the posters and said they wern't that bad. I can also understand how Melinda might want a space to herself.

I can connect to Melinda a little bit, I know what it feels like to be without a group to belong to.
